Drawings

2009
Ink and pencil on paper

My drawings are taken from a variety of sources and scales (from construction site mounds to mountain ranges). They are all remote and transitional places. I am interested in how space, surface and scale can be represented on paper. The drawings use multiple perspectives and I hope that they hover between a sculptural object and a flattened chaotic grid. The basic construction unit for my drawings is parallel lines. I have a limited mark making vocabulary in order to concentrate the intensity of the arrangement of the form. I have also started incorporating Morse Code into the surface of some of the forms.
